How much do I love this range from Basic Grey! This is an early upload of my next STP Design Team LO. I hope you like it. Be sure to check out the Scrap That Poetry website at the beginning of JULY to find out which poem inspired this LO!!
When I saw the sketch challenge for the latest Cybercrop at LSBS I knew it was going to be the perfect avenue for me to scrap my latest ScrapThatPoetry DT entry as well. The poem inspiration for this month is:
Footprints in the Sand by Mary Stevenson One night I had a dream -- I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and aross the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life, There was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, You would walk with me all the way; But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, There is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why in times when Ineeded you the most, you should leave me.
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child. I love you, and I would never, never leave you during your times oftrial and suffering. When you saw only one set of footprints, t was then that I carried you.
I have always loved this poem so very much. Here is my layout, created with the Kaisercraft 'Prairie Lane' range (one of my new favourites)!!
Here is the story behind the layout: This is my 'school photo' from last year. Don't let the smile fool you, because I was at my lowest point. I weighed well over 100kg, I was fat and just miserable within myself, eating my way into oblivion and two to three larger clothing sizes. Yet I had to turn up to work every day and put my happy face on and do what I do! Today I am under 100kg, happier and on my way to being a healthy person again in body and mind. This layout reminds me to always draw upon my Faith for strength.
I hope you are inspired by this too and find time to join in with the challenge. Take a look at the other DT members LOs for inspiration here. They are truly amazing!
Here are some 'age' birthday cards I created this weekend with my 'Shelee handmade fabric original' flowers...... and Sandie's handmade daisies as a base! Thanks for the daisies in your blog giveaway Sandie, I am finally using them!
I have found a new passion ..... scrapping in A4! This size is wonderful for all of those one-off 6x4 photos that seem to get lost in a 12x12 format! I made the frayed fabric flowers and have to thank one of the LSBS girls for sending me the tissue paper flower in a RAK.
Can anyone suggest a good A4 sized album to buy, to store my layouts in?
Thanks for stopping by. If you are looking for a challenge to keep your creativity flowing then have a look at STP's latest challenge! You will find it here:
