Here it is .... my take on the Vermeer portrait below ..... and I have to say that this is one of my all time favourite layouts now! It didn't come together easily, but I'm gald I persisted.

New ARTastic Inspiration!

Vermeer - The Girl With the Pearl Earring

Added criteria:

1. Single portrait style photo

2. An earring somewhere on the page

Note: Vermeer's painting was actually titled "The Head Of A Girl" (1666) but is otherwise known from the movie with Colin Firth as "The Girl With The Pearl Earring".

I hope you all enjoy this months painting and I look forward to seeing some really gorgeous entries. Shazza will upload the Design Team submissions over the next few days so as you can gain lots of inspiration from thier beautiful work.

Busy Bee

Sorry for the lack of scrappy uploads girls ..... I have only had time to scrap my next DT layout for ARTastic (but you're not allowed to see it until next month).

I am head down - bum up writing student reports for school and scrapping comes a sad second to that, much to my dismay!!

Fabric on a Layout

Little Scrapbook Shop's 52 Pick-Up challenge #43 required us to use fabric somewhere on a layout, so I cut out some circles of pink puppy paw-print fabric, gathered the edges and turned them into little fabric puff flowers.

Look at my gorgeous Holly Dolly with her little flower clip in. That lasted a whole 2 nano-seconds btw ..... !!!!!

Geometric Cards

Little Scrapbook Shop's 52 Pick-Up challenge #44 required us to make a LO, OTP or cards using geometric shapes. I used a circle stamp, backed it with a red square and the little trees are triangles.

November ARTastic DT Submission

Here is my Design Team submission for the ARTastic November inspiration. See next post below! I chose 3 elements from the painting as my inspiration - the tall stemmed flowers, the draping/flowing fabric and the swirls on the cornice in the background, that I have punched on the PP with my large spiral punch. Go on - give it a go! You know you want to!!
